My samsung j3 2017 phone won't pick up the fitbit altar hr on Bluetooth to show my text messages and calls

Unfortunately, the Samsung J3 isn't a Fitbit Supported Device.  Some parts of the app may work but there's no guarantee.

My Alta HR worked fine with Samsung J3 from March till September. Did required upgrade on phone and now I dont get email or text notifications. Very frustrating. Anyone having any luck fixing this?
