Fitbit app no longer showing weight history...only goes back to the start of this year

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since the last update, the format of showing and logging weight has changed, and I found today that it no longer shows my weight history, tracked since 2016.

This is the ONLY reason I have kept buying Fitbit...to keep the history!

The app does show useless chat history going back to 2017!  Why has my weight data disappeared?

Hello @BGnz

This is a known issue for Android phone users after the recent app update. See this thread (<-- click link). Although the original issue was in regard to food logging, one of the Moderator acknowledged that the issue also affects weight tracking. The Moderator said that he will be posting updates on this thread.

You might want to join/follow that thread so you'll see the updates.

I agree!

It's so frustrating! I've been tracking since 2017 myself and ONLY continued to log weight and cycle details because I liked the way it was displayed.  Now... these sharp data points are horrendous to look at and statistically misleading.... why would they want to discourage us from getting to look back at our progress?

See which of these graphs are more pleasant to view and help understand the information.... I grew a baby in 2018 I wanna see the small details!

I've been tracking weight in the Fitbit app (before that, the website) since June, 2013. I just noticed today that my "All Time" weight stops at 2015. I've also tried going backward year-by-year in the app and 2015 just shows a dot in December and when I try to go back to 2014, it shows "No data | No weight logged".

Is Fitbit trashing old data, or is this a known bug with the app?

I tried putting the version in here, but got an error, "The message body contains {string of numbers which is part of the version}, which is not permitted in this community. Please remove this content before sending your post.", so I had to remove that, but it's the latest version from the Google Play Store as of today, December 1, 2024.

This has NOT been answered!

I tried to click a box saying I liked another comment and Google responds

"Hey this has been answered!"... Rubbish!

I don't see what you are talking about on that thread, friend. They seem to be talking about the screen being cut-off, which is not the issue being described here. For me there is more screen to show the history of my "All time" weights, but it is empty before 2022 when I have been on Fitbit since like 2015. Did I miss something or are you referring us to a discussion of a different issue?

Best Answer

Yes different issue.  Not sure why it got attached to that thread, which I have stopped following.

Hello @BGnz , @Hi_Dare , @arkaycee , @Moemoemorgan

Here's the link to a thread on the weight data & tracking issues

One of the Moderators has acknowledged the issue and confirmed that the issue has been escalated to the appropriate team. She will update that thread with updates as they become available.

I totally agree and came on specifically to complain about this new weight charting system.  It is terrible! I can see having an option to show averages but I tracked my weight for years on fitbit and I want my highly resolved data back!!

I just just went into my Android fitbit app as I wanted to review my weight history going back to 2015 - but it now only shows data going back to August 2024 -  Where is my data Google? I want it back - I pay for Fitbit premium every month and I am NOT happy about such extensive data loss!!
