Fitbit app not showing Sleep Score

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I know that there are several posts about sleep mode not working, this is another one. I had two days of sleep scores with associated details and graph. Since then I just have a bar graph, no sleep score. This is not why I bought this Versa Lite. All I can think of is that there was a firmware update very early in the life of this watch. Can I just send it back and get a refund please? Your chat desk was helpful but it still doesn't work.

Hi there @Alangood53, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided. I've seen you contacted our Support Team after posting here and that they were helping you with this.

While reading your post I was wondering if the mobile device you're syncing with is included in our list of supported devices? You can see the list at: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see: What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

Note that we are aware of Sleep Score may take longer than usual to appear in the app. We’re currently working to resolve it and hope to have a fix soon. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution.

If you are not receiving sleep stages, I recommend considering the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

I hope this helps, give this a go and let me know if next time your Fitbit provides you with your sleep data.

Hi,
Last night my wife wore the Fitbit. The app says she had 6hr 53 min sleep but still no sleep score and no graph. This did work for two nights when this watch was new. It stopped showing the graph after the firmware update. I bought the Fitbit because of sleep data and cannot understand why this does now not work. My son and daughter have these and they both work. I would prefer a replacement to test or failing that a full refund please. I don’t think this is an unreasonable request. If you know that this is a fault and that it will be fixed then that’s fine but if not then this one is not fit for purpose.
Thank you and please let me know.

Hello there @Alangood53, thanks for getting back and for the details provided.

As mentioned above, in order to get sleep score you must also get sleep stages. So, As a first approach, I'd like you to perform the following steps below for this situation:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your Fitbit. To switch the heart rate settings on your Fitbit, from the main screen of your Fitbit, swipe left until you see "Settings", next swipe up until you see "Heart Rate" and switch it to Off.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Fitbit. To do so, open the Fitbit app, tap on the Account icon, tap on your Fitbit's image and tap on "Sync Now"
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your Fitbit once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your Fitbit.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible) We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

Try wearing your Fitbit today and let me know if tomorrow morning your can see your sleep data. 😊

Ok thank you for getting back to me. I've done as you suggest but that's
the third time I've been told to do similar things and I also found this
solution on line and have done this myself, with no effect. I've tried with
the battery fully charged and then with 70% charge but there;s no
difference. I'll charge to 100% and I'll wear the watch tonight and see
what happens. By the way, my daughter contacted me today to say that she
too lost sleep stages last night and has just received a bar graph with no
detail. Her sleep pattern doesn't appear to have changed.

This occurred on my Fitbit Charge 3 about a week ago.  I was able to fix it by doing the following, not sure which one actually fixed it.  I found all 3 of these while searching the forums.

1) Rebooted my watch.  I first tried using the Settings menu on the watch, and I was able to reboot that way, but afterwards the step counting wouldn't work and there was no green flashing light.  So then I connected the watch to the charger and held down the button for 8 seconds.

2) In the app, went to the community page, selected "What are you up to?", and then selected the Sleep icon.  Before it took me to my sleep page, it asked for permissions, which I granted.

3) In the app, selected the today page, and selected sleep.  I then selected each sleep that did not show a sleep score, and then selected the 3 little dots in the top right and selected Delete Log.

The next morning my sleep score was back.

Hi,
The problem was two fold they said:
1 I was starting a sleep function manually instead of just going to bed.
2. I had to shout the watch down and also log out of the app. I logged back on and then started the watch. I then went to bed and the full sleep score was back.
3. I also set a sleep goal that was well within what I expected ie 6.5 hours.
Hope that helps?

If I just wear my Fitbit to bed and don’t select “Begin Sleep Now”, I get the sleep score.
