Fitbit charge 2 not staying connected to phone while tracking activity ( bike ride)

My fitbit charge 2 keeps losing connection to the android app on my samsung S6 while tracking activity. 

Unable to track gps, distance and speed like this.

Bluetooth and gps are always turned on on my phone and syncing steps and messages is no problem.

Just the tracking

Bought my fitbit only a few months ago btw

figured it out myself: if I put my phone in the back pocket of my biking shirt it can't connect properly. if I put it in the side pocket there's no problem. so i guess it doesn't work well with obstacles inbeween devices
