Bought fitbit charge one for me one for hubby. Eventually set his up on his samsung tablet as wouldnt work with his phone. Mine not compatible with my samsung galaxy j5 so will not setup. Have tried to set mine up on his tablet but cannot get it to work even though it worked for his!! Not sure if fitbit faulty or not, have uninstalled app switched bluetooth on and off restarted the device etc. I dont get further than device receiving 4 digit code as soon as i enter code fitbit screen goes into sleep mode. Really dissapointed that such a big brand is not compatible with samsung. I am about to return can you suggest anything else before i do...

Glad to see you on board @Mcbeth123, welcome! If your Charge HR is getting stuck while entering the code, the best solution is the restart. Just make sure that is restarting correctly. When is new you won't see the Fitbit Logo at the end of the restart in all cases, but you should see the battery signal popping up before and after the restart.
I'd recommend to contact Fitbit Support if that doesn't work, since you already restarted both the Bluetooth and the Fitbit App.
In my case I use a phone that is not compatible too but allowed me to download the App and "Set up" my tracker. It doesn't sync all the time, but it does sync after I reboot the Fitbit App. It is not ideal, but helps when I'm not home to check my computer. Have you tried to download the App in yours?
Let me know if I can further assit you!

Hope you're doing great @Mcbeth123! Thanks for sharing your experience. Sorry you couldn't setup your Surge successfully. In regards of compatibility it's very difficult to have all the phone models in the list of compatible devices since they should be tested first. I understand your decision and I think that you should work with you think it's best for you.
In the case of your husband's Fitbit I'd like to know which is the phone that he is using. We have an amazing workaround for syncing issues in this master post from @HelenaFitbit. But there is a couple of things we should check, such as updates and the most important compatibility between devices. I'd like to help you with this. You can let him know too, that he can contact support or post here to solve the issue or find a good resolution for him, before getting to the point of frustration. Our goal is to help users to enjoy Fitbit products on his/her way to improve healthy habits.
I'll be around, feel free to post back in case you need anything else!
