We bought a Fitbit for our daughter 12th birthday. She was so happy with, but it's a straight nightmare. It's completely impossible to connect if daughter is part of family link. The protocol is way to restrictive! I have tried everything, creating new accounts, making her 13, 16. Everything. But nothing is possible. Only allows for baby-Fitbit models which 12 year old pre-teens do not want.
On the helpdesk, at it for days, but no solution. Google really overstepped here. They take all my data, I pay money for these watches, pay big money for premium accounts, but completely restricting products in over aggressively without any mention when so ever! Its just a frikkin step-counter, the user is not the enemy. I am completely fed up with Google, this was never an issue at Fitbit. Threw away this money for nothing. After 12 years of Fitbit moving over to Garmin.

Hello @basro22
Due to child data privacy laws, a person must be at least 13 y.o. to use an "adult" Fitbit device in the USA.
That said, there have been parents who were able to successfully setup an "adult" Fitbit device for their child under a Family managed account. It's not an easy process.
