In September 2024 people started reporting that the app was losing their exercise, steps, food, and other data. Data that was previously there, and one day is just gone with no explanation.
I walked over 36,000 steps, every single day in 2024 and have proof of that in Oct/Nov before my account suffered the same fate. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, clearing data, removing and readding my pixel watch, syncing, nothing works. This is a fitbit backend issue that needs to be fixed.
See below my screenshots where all of my data was intact until mid November then all my step data was lost. This has been an issue for ~~four months~~ and all we have heard is "we are aware" "we are working on it".
I promise I will never buy another fitbit device, I'm pretty sure this is what Google wanted anyways when they bought the company.

Here you can see I walked 14+ miles per day which was accurate even when my steps were lost. Miles were accurate into december and then EVERYTHING was lost.
And here are my steps as of Nov 2024 as well

And here are my steps as of mid December and still to this day. Makes me so mad that I trusted this one platform to handle my step data.

Hello @SupahSet
According to a thread about missing historical data, the users reported that the new app update restored their data. Please confirm that your app version is 4.34.1.
If you are on version 4.34.1, please submit your issue using the Feedback option in the Fitbit app
Although it's likely that you won't receive a response, the team receives and reviews the feedback reports.
You should also post in this thread (<-- click link) and tag JuanFitbit, the Moderator. In your response, please provide your Fitbit app version and what phone you're using. He will forward your information to the engineering team and let them know what issues weren't fixed with the app update.

I have the latest version, 4.31.1. My data is not fixed. I also just tried completely uninstalling again, reinstalling from Google play, and signing back in and connecting my pixel watch again.
This is still an issue, and has not been resolved.

@SupahSet
The version you're using is not the latest version, 4.34 has been released, please see this post.
App updates are released in batches, so please keep checking the App store for updates, Version 4.32 was previously released and should be available to install if 4.34 isn't released to you yet.

Try clearing you fitbit cash, the app should be forced to retrieve from the net. If that doesn't work, clear the data. You will need to log in

I've already done all this dozens of times. Ive cleared cache, deleted the entire app data on disk, uninstalled/reinstalled completely.
Ive been an Android engineer for over 10 years, I work on Android apps every single day, I'm well versed in trouble shooting steps.
This is entirely on fitbit and is being brushed off on users for not doing specific steps or having the latest version. This has been an issue for MONTHS with no outcome.

Day 113 of asking FitBit to fix my data, this is unacceptable.

Did you get the date wrong because for many of us the issues started in August 2023! That's when the first Google 'upgrades' began and everything gradually broke.

Hey Linz! I've been using fitbit trackers since 2016 and haven't seen this issue on my side until Oct 2024. So while it may have been occurred to other users earlier than that, I just wanted to stay true to the timeline of how long I've been experiencing this and pressing for answers

Same thing just happened to me today. Absolutely everything is gone. And bizarrely the app says I made my account in 2014. I bought my first fitbit about 3 years ago.
