I have a perfectly safe Note 7 which was included in a "voluntary recall" because a small number of devices. overheated... ironically, this note 7 not only remains cool, but heats up less than any device I have ever owned. The problem is, now the fitbit surge doesn't want to sync, loses time, and, while the note 7 can see and connect to it, the Fitbit app does not. Looking at the supported devices, I no longer find Note 7 listed, only. Note 8,which is not yet available? What gives?

It's great to see you here @Nrus. If your tracker is not longer syncing with your Note 7, I recommend following our syncing troubleshoot, after these steps your Fitbit should sync without a problem.
