Anyone having a problem today with syncing. My walk with the dogs this morning was logged but nothing since then. I keep trying to refresh but it keeps saying device not found. I have uninstalled the app, restarted my Ionic, restarted Bluetooth, nothing is working.

Yes same problem since Thursday. Have tried all suggestions on help but still not syncing

Best Answer

Yes. No sync since yesterday lunchtime and no recognition of device. Previously, when this has happened, I have reinstalled the app. This hasn't worked this time. I have had a couple of weeks when everything has worked well, but this inconsistency is frustrating.

Now my Ionic no longer works with my cell phone, my laptop, or my ipod touch. I called support this morning. The woman kept telling me it's not compatible with my Moto z2 play. It's been working for three years with no issues and the fact it's not working with my other devices tells me it's the watch. Any suggestions? Can I bring it somewhere to be checked?

Waiting for support call to be answered - currently 40 minutes

I have been on the phone with them this morning and also did a live chat. I satisfaction from either. They said my phone is not compatible but it set up three years ago and has worked all this time with no issues. I also can't set it up again on my laptop. I am beyond angry and don't know what else I can do.

Have you tried calling them? I don't know what to do. The person I spoke to had me try resetting which knocked my phone off the app. So now, like you, I can't add it back on because the app doesn't recognize.

Hi @Greytdogs  @Penny159  and @PamB85   Here is the list of compatible devices? click to see

I have an older Samsung S4 phone (not used for calls or texts) with Android version 5.01 and it no longer does everything, too. The information in that link tells the basic requirement is Android 7 or higher. Not all phones will work, but some, like my older Samsung, still manage to do a bit. My Samsung S8 with Android 9 is waiting for a glitch to be fixed in the next app.

@Greytdogs  there is no place to take these devices to have them checked. Customer support can tell us about our battery, since we plug them in to charge.

But it has been working on the very phone that they say it is not supported
on.

My phone is Android 8. And my laptop is an iMac. It just makes no sense that everything can work fine for years and then stop. Even yesterday morning it worked for about four hours, then stopped. And the support staff are less than helpful. I'm very disgusted right now.

Same here.

Me too, but, got through to support and they sent an email with all the
usual trouble shooting on. Rebooting everything seems to have allowed me to
re-set up the device. Let's see how long it lasts ...

I'm having the same problem. It hasn't synced all week. I've tried everything, same as you mentioned, but it says it can't find the device. I noticed it didn't sync sleep quality the week prior. Just the length of time asleep. But now, nothing syncs.

I'm having the same problem. I reinstalled the app and turn the Bluetooth on and off on my phone, and it's still not syncing. Don't know what else to try, any ideas very welcome.

Unfortunately I tried that too and it didn't help, but I appreciate the suggestion.

Hello everyone. Sorry to hear about your syncing issues between your phone and your Fitbit devices and thank you for troubleshooting this issue.

As @Odyssey13 mentioned you can check the list of compatible devices. Still if your phone doesn't show as compatible that doesn’t mean it won’t work it just means that it hasn’t been tested by our team. You can try refreshing the link between your phone and your Fitbit device by trying the following

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

Let me know how it goes.

This worked! I was finally able to pair my device with my phone, and it
completed the sync. All my steps from the last two weeks now appear on my
app.

Thanks for the advice.
