Flex not pairing

I'm having problems many problems with fit bits, first is with my sons new Fitbit, he got it from his nana after his first broke. He is using his existing account but it won't pair, just sits on the same screen after he has tapped it as instructed, then says 'not working'. With mine it's not tracking exercise accurately even after restarting it. And my daughters clip wouldn't stay clipped and it went missing while out for dinner. Im very frustrated

Welcome to the Community @Sarah29! Ok, first of all, with your son's Fitbit, I would like you to try to restart it by following the instructions on @SunsetRunner post and then try the set up process again. 

Regarding yours, can you please tell me what type of Fitbit you have and what type of exercise are you doing? 

And finally, regarding your daughter's Fitbit, could you please tell me does she have a Fitbit One? If so, maybe the clip is defective, so you have to contact Fitbit Support to get assistance, also if the tracker got lost, I'm pretty sure they can offer you an alternative solution.
