I'm sorry to see that you've been experiencing difficulties to sync your Flex 2 with your HTC Desire. Before considering other options, make sure your phone is listed as compatible device, otherwise it's possible that you will experience some trouble with syncing and other features.
You can also try all the steps provided here, they have been helpful to other users having similar difficulties.
