Thank you for your participation in the forums @Ljgeo29! I'll be glad to provide some information on this. Smiley Happy

Your Fitbit Charge HR detects floors using an altimeter, which is a sensor that calculates altitude based on atmospheric pressure. Atmospheric pressure decreases with increasing elevation, so the tracker calculates elevation gain based on the reduction in atmospheric pressure. Your tracker registers a floor when it detects continuous motion combined with an elevation gain of about 10 feet.

Your tracker may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Occasionally your tracker may detect pressure changes unrelated to elevation gains, such as a gust of wind, weather change, or opening a door. If a weather front comes through, or you walk in a wind, you can get floors.

There is a way to get rid of the Floors on your account, but you will be deleting some steps along the way. Personally I do not recommend this option since you will overwrite some hard earned steps. Also, your floor count does not get factored into calorie burn.

Let me know if you have any questions, good luck! Smiley Happy

Maybe that explains why my floor count is 11 today, and it should be 0. It was very windy all day where I live. I've never had this problem before. Supposed to be calm tomorrow, I'll see if my count is accurate them.

I had the same problem today. It counted 50 floors only 5 are true. But I walked outside and it was really windy today... I hate that I can't delete the floors and that I earned a badge for floors I never did... fitbit should really fix this problem or make it possible for us to delete the floors without having to fake 'driving'
