Food Plan Confusion

Ive read many posts and articles and still dont understand how to read my calorie information. I am on the -1000 calorie deficit plan and on my dashboard it says I've consumed 1087 and 709 left. Is this a projected amount or does this not account for the calorie deficit I am working with? Then on my food page, it says I have 1087 cals in minus 1578. It also says I am "in the zone" with 37 cals over budget. How do I determine how many more calories I can take in and stay in a -1000 calorie deficit?

Hi @Haykiara,

Once you set the deficit in the weight plan, it will take that into account. Fitbit will try to figure how many calories you have left in the Under/Over meter, taking into account how many hours are left in the day.  Of course it can't know exactly how active you'll be in upcoming hours, so it can only estimate.

Personally, I don't worry about staying "in the zone" during the day, but just try to make sure at the end of the day that the target is met.

Thank you so much for sharing. I have a better understanding now. I will pay more attention to the calories than the budget until later in the day or as I project my day.
