Hi
i was scanning the double rich chocolate tub from gold standard and i've got 485 kcal per 31 grams, wich is a lot, looking at the label it says 116 kcal per 31 grams OR 485 kJ. is the app swapping calories with Joule?

Hey there @Pmirkouk, welcome to the Fitbit Community!

Thanks a lot for taking the time to share this situation with us. I'll be happy to help!

This issue is pretty unusual and I'd like to gather some more information. Please let me know the following things:

  • Which database are you currently using?
  • Is this happening with any other food? Please try to add anything else that describes the nutrition facts so we can see any discrepancy.
  • Can you share a screenshot with us?

Database is Uk
i haven't seen another miscalculation so far. but both me and my  girlfriend (on Iphone) got the same results with this particular scan.
i don't have the tub with me at the moment, i'll try later to share a screenshot.
funny thing is if i type the optimum nutrition gold standard whey in the search bar instead of the scan, i get the right results...

Thanks @Pmirkouk,  for your answer my questions, let's make some test!

Can you please try changing the database to something different from the UK and see if the nutrition information changes in any way?

I was trying myself to add Gold Standard Whey Protein Double Rich Chocolate (I do take this protein as well as you) and I don't even find the log in the UK database. I did find it on the US database, so it seems to be something with the information we have about that specific product.

I'll be waiting for the screen shot so we can explore our options about this matter!

yeah  i don't find the double rich as well, just a generic gold standard whey with the same nutritional values written on the label, so i went with that. i'll try to change the database and take a scan

Even with the American database the scan shows 485

@Pmirkouk Yeah, so one thing I can suggest as a workaround could be to create the log yourself with the nutrition facts described on the tub of whey protein!

Not all products are included in the database, but you can add any other product by yourself. Please see the screenshots below:

  • From the Food title, tap on the option to log a food manually
  • Type the name of the product you wanna add

  • Press on create and you will get this page

That will be recorded for future entries.
