GPS Connecting...Google Pixel Watch with LTE

I have spend days looking through the Fitbit Community, Google Forums and Reddit for steps to address this issue. I have found none, which is why I'm creating this post.

On my watch...Apps>Fitbit Exercise>Run> "GPS connecting..." appears, but it never connects. I factory reset my watch today to try and address the issue. I have confirmed that Fitbit Exercise>Settings>GPS>On. When I open the Google Maps app on my watch, I can navigate with no problem.

I ultimately need GPS to connect so that I can get accurate run data including distance, location/route, and splits.

I've also downloaded the Google Fit app for wear OS and it locates GPS in seconds.

Any ideas?

I have exactly the same issue, seems to have got worse in the last few months.

No fix found anywhere online

I am using the LTE version of PW1 without e-Sim. I found the same issue like what you found. was really frustrated as my phone was tracking it much much better.

My workaround:

Do not choose Run from Quick Select.

Open Apps -> Fitbit Excercises -> Run

Now wait for the GPS to show "GPS connected". It does in 10 to 15 seconds max.

Now choose Run.

Hope this helps.

Yes - confirmed the workaround works about 80% of the time! Much
appreciated.

GPS still drops out more often than I'd like mid-walk/-run but this is
better than it was.
