GPS distance discrepancies

This record of my run makes no sense. I started and ended in the same spot but not according to this. The distance is what i expect for a complete circuit. The splits page shows times for each of the three miles and for the . 63 remainder. This device continues to frustrate me making the simplest things so overly complicated.

I have a charge 3 that I want to track my runs with but even though I run the same route every time it never displays it correctly and give it a different distance every time. Fed up with support blaming my GPS I ran (I know I am slow - I am almost 60 years old and have thalesemia give me break) today and used another tracking app at the same time as the fit bit app. This image has routes that in reality are all exactly the same but the app give widely different results. The two bottom images are from the same run. The app on the right recorded the route perfectly, the fitbit app well, another random pile of crap.
