Galaxy s3 no message notification sounds from the app

Hi, I have been running a Galaxy s3 on android 4.3 with a charge hr for nearly a year now but I can't get the phone to play a notification sound when I get a message via the app. I get sounds from texts and when someone rings me and notifications sounds from other apps. I've looked in the app settings and "show notifications" is checked and indeed it does show notification but no sound!

any ideas?

Hi there @Stevehr, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community. No, the Fitbit app will only show you notifications but it won't make any sound alert, despite you have it enable in your phone settings.
