Getting "Failed to send friend request"

see error message. We are both on public profiles and tried to connect using user name and email addresses.

I appreciate the troubleshooting tried prior to posting. Please try the following troubleshooting: 

 

- Log out from the Fitbit app 

- Clear cache 

- Restart your phone 

- Log back in and send the friend request

I am having the same problem.  I logged out of Fitbit, cleared my cache, and restarted my phone.  I am still getting the same message.

Please let me know which option you're using to add friends and getting this error message. Does it happen when you add them with email?

It was doing it with user names and email addresses. It was actually the privacy and social tab I had to go under. I had myself as Private.
