Fitbit can write to Health Connect, which you can use to get data to Google Fit.
Unfortunately , Fitbit can't read data from Health Connect so if you use other fitness apps, you can't use Fitbit at the centre of your health data,
The strange thing is that the other data is writing via Health Connect to Google Fit but the nutrition isn't. I have it all enabled so it should. Not really a deal breaking but I would have liked to have that data sync across. I do understand it won't work the opposite way. I have been entering my nutrition via Fitbit so that the data starts there.
Best AnswerI don't see the option to even sync nutrition information with Health Connect. It seems that Google needs to do a lot to integrate Fitbit with Google Fit, or combine the two apps into a better one. It's weird having both on my Pixel Watch and not being 100% happy with either.

I just did a test and getting the same result. Only way to get nutrition info into Fitbit AND Google Fit is using a third party app. In my case Lose It! but you need a separate subscription to get that info into Fitbit.
Which shows the again that Fitbit not importing from Fit/Health Connect is the problem here. As the link between Lose It and Fitbit is direct
