Health Metrics Trend Charts

ANSWERED

The Health Metrics trend chart tab and charts were eliminated from the latest 4.39 App release and that is a huge step backwards for the utility of the App in my opinion.

I discovered that it is still possible to click on one of the Health Metrics to see a trend chart for that metric, but I found it very useful to view the trend charts for BR, HRV, RHR and SpO2 at the same time to see the potential interactions between  the various heart metrics and that is no longer possible to do as far as I can tell.

Unfortunately, it seems the latest update removed the ability to view multiple Health Metrics trend charts at once. You can still access individual trends, but the combined view is no longer available.

It might be helpful to provide feedback to the app developers through the app’s support or feedback channels, as user input can sometimes lead to improvements in future updates.

Hello @Bill_209

Thank you for sharing your feedback on this change. I haven't see the updated Health Metrics yet since I haven't gotten the app update that includes this change.

Please consider submitting your opinion on this change using the Feedback option in the Fitbit app. The team receives & reviews the feedback reports.

I agree - it looks like an utterly pointless change. I can't see why those that made the change think this is in any way an improvement.

I will definitely provide feedback via the App as well, @RiekoC, but I recently read a post from someone indicating that the Menstrual Health tile in the App is still not working an entire year after the problem was first reported, so I have little confidence that Google really cares too much about resolving App issues, or optimizing it to bridge the productivity gap that removing the dashboard created for that matter.

Yes. Why fix something that wasn't broken?!

And what's with the personal range being all over the place?

I agree this latest update is terrible.

I don't understand why they change it to something worse.

It shouldn't matter if a new month begins you should be able to see past 30 or 90 days even though a new month have started.

Sleep and health are not dependent on what name a month has. I hope it will be changed back to the old layout.

I use sleep tracking to track my trending health as a senior. Google has removed trending graphs from almost everything. I own a Sense ONLY to track my trending Health Metrics by graphs. It is my most important tool, AND GOOGLE HAS ARBITRARILY AND WITHOUT NOTICE REMOVED IT. If this tool is not restored, I will have to find another fitness tool. I have watched Google degrade this app's usefulness over time and truly resented being forced to change to a Google Email Login. Now my breaking point is being reached. As a senior, I will  not be waiting months, never mind years,  for a result. I could understand moving functions to Premium that were free, but not simply trashing them.

Hello @acw6745

The graphs for the Health Metrics are still available in the app. Open the Health Metrics page and tap on a specific metric to see the weekly, monthly, & yearly charts.

I agree that this change and the graphs are not as easy to use as the previous version.

Thank you. Unfortunately, health charts are normally for a rolling period
rather than a calendar break. I normally used a 90 day as trends were
visible at a glance. Calendar breaks and monthly summary numbers are
useless for this. If I had a choice I would back out the latest update.

I agree.  This change is really disappointing.  Functionality keeps disappearing.  I am  reconsidering why I am paying for premium as the functionality that led me to pay for premium keeps disapppearing.  Google is  degrading Fitbit and I feel ripped off.  Maybe there ia an intentional Google goal to get you to buy a new watch that is not a Fitbit?

I certainly agree and wish they would go back to the original format.

I created an account to complain about this change. Does anyone know of third party apps that show the trends all on one page?

Best Answer

Edit: if you uninstall the app and install the April 5th archived version of the app from a third party website, this functionality is restored.

Agree 100%. Being able to see all the stat trends all together helped me predict when I would get a migraine. Now this is completely useless.
