Hi there @Hullcity good to see you have joined the Fitbit Community! This indeed is an unusual case, so since you have tried to shutdown the tracker a few time with the same result, this time try to reset the heart rate sensor itself.
As an additional help try to restart the tracker again but this time try a few times more in a row. For more details please take a look at this post.
See you soon and hope this helps!

Hi,
i had the same problem with my charge 3 and have solved it today after a lot of frustrating resets etc.
I resolved it by changing the face in the settings. I don’t know if this is the failure mode for everyone but my resting heart rate wasn’t charting but my instantaneous heart rate was.
Hope this helps.

Absolute, what do you mean by "changing the face in the settings"? I have the same issue, RHR has been at the same value for six days, but instantaneous HR is as normal, and I'm getting normal sleep data (which is also based on HR).

None of these solutions worked for my Ionic! After trying everything I pressed the left hand and bottom right hand buttons together - continue to hold for 10 to 15 seconds and when it goes off don't touch anything. After 20 to 30'seconds it restarted itself and is the heart rate monitor is now working fine!

I had the same issue with my Charge 3. It seems the Retro Double Stat clock face caused the problem. After I changed my clock face to the above 5 days ago, my RHR stopped updating. I have updated to a different one and that fixed it. It's very strange because I thought clock face would be just connected to display and not the actual performance.

I had checked all those options - restarting the fitbit itself, checked the heart rate was on but none of those worked for me in this case. The only thing I had changed before it stopped working was the clock face.
On top of that I was also having issues with fitbit not logging my exercises (walks, runs), which was eventually solved after restarting the fitbit by connecting it to the power and holding the button for 5 seconds.
