Help! What's better manually tracking exercise or pressing the button on my HR charge before excersice then again at the end. For example I go to spin class the manually logged spin class gives way different results than the button pressed results, i also can't add how many miles I've done with auto added exercise, can i change this?

There's quite a difference between manually logging an activity and using the button to track an activity.

When you manually log an activity you are telling fitbit to ignore what the tracker senses for that time period and use the calculated values for the calories etc for the manual entry instead.

When you use the button you are telling fitbit to interpret your activity as normal but highlight that period of time between button presses so that you can see the details later on.

Fitbits are not very good at tracking spinning as you're not taking any steps so using the button is likely to give much lower calorie figures. On the other hand it may give more steps as you may get some recorded by accident when spinning but the manual entry will not give any.

So, my view is to manually log any activity that is not predominantly step based and to use the button method for walking, running etc.
