How do I disable Health and Wellness reminders?

ANSWERED

I'm really annoyed by the daily set of reminders to drink water after sleep, drink water at lunch, that I did great yesterday, to be thankful for my friends and family, to get in the zone, etc.

All guides that show how to disable them say I need to tap on my profile picture in the app, then the Sense icon, and then it should show up under the 'general' section. But there's no such thing under general. I've gone through all buttons available there, but none lead to anything useful. Did they remove it from the Android app?

Accepted Solutions

After exchanging dozens of emails with support the last months, they have now turned of these notifications using their backend tools.

So, there's no solution on the customer side yet. But if your bothered with this too, ask them to take care of it on the backend.

Hi, @Deechte , welcome, your app firmware version should be 3.37.1 (20243550) From the Today screen touch your icon and swipe up to "help & support".

After you have touched the Sense tile in accounts you should see a "general" section with "on wrist calls", "notifications", "High & low heart rate", "reminders to move", "health & wellness reminders", "main goal", "wrist placement", "quick view", "wifi settings" & "device lock". Touch any of these to get the sub-menu.

Hi Gr4ndp4, thank you. My app version is 3.37.1 indeed. Here's a screenshot of my app in Dutch. Between "Bewegingsprikkels" = "reminders to move" and 'Hoofddoel" = "main goal" there just is no "health & wellness reminders".

Hi, @Deechte thanks for your update, At the top of "Health & Wellness Reminders" screen it advises "To get reminders on your Fitbit device allow notifications from Fitbit in your phone settings". It would be unusual if the omission was the result of a translation problem, you could try setting your language to English. Go to your online dashboard, click the settings wheel in the top right corner, click "settings", personal information and slide down to "Language by region/country" Here you can select Nederland/English. Sync your phone app and see if the "health & wellness reminders" appears. If so you could adjust the settings, sync again & then return to your own language.

I hope this helps, but if not I suggest you talk to "Customer Support" here, I recommend you use the "Chat" facility or the phone.

Cheers

Hi, where can I find what you describe as "At the top of "Health & Wellness Reminders" screen it advises "To get reminders on your Fitbit device allow notifications from Fitbit in your phone settings"."?

As for the language, I've set language and region to US English, even set my time zone to US time. The online dashboard properly converted to English. But the app doesn't. I've synced numerous times and successfully. Force closed the app. But it's still in Dutch, and without the menu option I'm looking for.

Hi, @Deechte, The quotation is from the top of the "Health & wellness Reminders" that is missing for you. I do not know if or how the language settings and actual location interlock but would suggest you choose the English option in the Nederlands setting and reset the time zone to your own. I'm going to flag these posts for a moderator who will undoubtedly have a better understanding of these things than I do. If this is a bug it certainly needs bringing to their attention.

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers

Hi, @Deechte, thanks for updating me, I wasn't aware of the other threads. Did you try accessing the settings using the Nederlands/English app?

I'm pleased you have spoken to "Customer Support".

No, I didn't try, cause I'm not sure what you mean by "you choose the English option in the Nederlands setting and reset the time zone to your own". I figured you meant setting my region to English, which I already tried. You mean something else?

Hi, @Deechte, in the web-based dashboard click the settings gear in the top right corner, then settings, personal information, slide down to "Language by region/country", click to open, click the inverted triangle in the slot for selecting and slide to Nederland here you can select Nederland/Nederlands or Nederlands/Engles. Select the later, sync and see if the missing "Health & wellness reminders" appears. If so adjust the settings & return to the Nederland/Nederlands selection at your convenience.

It would be good if it worked!!

Cheers

Hi @Gr4ndp4, now I see what you mean. I've changed from United States (English) to Nederland (Engels). I doubt if that will make a difference. For now the app is still in Dutch.

To follow up on my previous post, it didn't make a difference.

I did figure out that setting my device to English in the Android settings is the way to get the FB app in English though. But unfortunately, that didn't make "health & wellness reminders" appear between "reminders to move" and "main goal".

Hi @LizzyFitbit,

Thanks for the heads up.

I've been contacted by a support person too, but the initial solution at least didn't work.

Hello @LizzyFitbit it's been more than two months now. I still suffer from this everyday. Along with the stupid email notifications bug and the fact that the Google Assistant planned for early 2021 for my country is still not there, makes me think that you really do not care for you customers at all. I didn't buy a cheap device for a few bucks, for crying out loud. If this continues like this, it will be my first and last Fitbit.
