How do I display step count?

I am playingsome games that take the step count from fitbit and reward me in game for it..

 

However the android app does not display steps.. It displays my calorie burns... How do I make it display steps? I am completely new to this, sorry. Im not even sure if its sending my steps to my appd.. Though my profile shows that the apps have access to my fitbit information.. Do i need a bracelet?? Or can my phone count steps without it??

@Katronsensei, your step count is on the very top of the Fitbit app.  And, if you click on that tile, it displays the history of the steps.  Do you not see this in the app?
