How do I find number of steps? Fitbit Alta

I haven't worn my Fitbit Alta for some time but decided to make an effort to up my steps.  Since I last used it there has been an update and now I can't find the number of steps I have walked.  If I tap on the Alta I can see that I have done 8.2k but I don't know whether I've done 8,001 8,999 steps - the app used to tell me.

 

I have checked that the app is up to date.  My phone is a Pixel 3a.

 

I've searched for other topics similar to that, but can't find anything to help, so I'm hoping you can.  Thanks in advance.  🙂
