How do I turn off Gmail notification on Versa

I can't turn off Gmail notifications on my Versa. When I go into the Fitbit app on my Samsung Galaxy 8, I do not see any toggle switches for email notifications in my settings. I've seen this issue in other forums, but there's no solution. Why is it so difficult to turn off Gmail notifications!?

Google, Apple, Samsung, and microsoft all fighting to control the world - here you gave google control Ed. On your mobile go to preferences or settings > notifications, find gmail (usually alphabetical) and touch

Shut'er down.

Now open fitbit app

Touch and pull down screen to force sync

Whew, no more gmail notifications 🙂
