Hi @JohnWL  you need to give both the Fitbit app and your phone permission to send notifications, calls, text, etc. You might need to look around the phone to see where to give permission. I'm on Android 9, so I'm sure it's a bit different on your new phone.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @JohnWL! Thanks for the assistance provided @Odyssey13 😁.

Adding to what @Odyssey13 mentioned, I recommend you to check that notifications are enabled on the Fitbit app by tapping on your profile's picture > Your device's name > Notifications. When you download the app for the first time on your phone, you will see a pop-up message asking for permission to have access to your notifications, contacts, messages, etc so you need to allow them to receive notifications. You can find more details on this help article.

Hope this helps.
