I understand Fitbit wants my money, but I have absolutely zero interest in premium. Is there any way to get the dozen or so ads for premium in the app out of my face?

Thank you for your question about how to remove Premium ads on the Fitbit app.

 

There's a little "x" on the top right corner of the pop-up Try Premium banner. By tapping on it you can remove the ad from your dashboard.

So does turning off the device!! How do you stop them from returning every time? Perhaps change to Apple?? Shame on you Fitbit/Google!
