How to see current heart rate on new Android app?

Where can I see my current heart rate on the new app? All I see now is a range (I don't know if it's weekly or monthly, but it certainly isn't daily.)

I like to display on my phone while on the treadmill instead of moving my arm to squint at my watch.

Also, previously my location setting was on when the app was in use, but now suddenly it needs to be on all the time? Why so battery hogging all of a sudden, Google?

We are hoping that real time heart rate, a much used & needed feature, will be re-instated in the app soon.
