How to switch off the hourly step reminder for Pixel Watch 3?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Pixel Watch 3 notifies me every hour how many steps I still need to maneuver. This is utterly useless and super annoying for me. I've used the watch now for a week, and I thought it was a good idea, but it isn't, as I cannot walk the steps during most of my workday, and I don't want to get any additional notifications. It doesn't make me healthier to get the notifications; it is quite the opposite 😄

I've googled the issue and followed all the possible instructions I can find. I've disabled it from the Fitbit website and tried to find the functions from the app. Obviously, some of the instructions are old, as there are no settings in the actual app; there are only settings on the website.

I would appreciate any help, as the other option is to get rid of the Fitbit app.

Hello @LasLei

The way to turn off the hourly notifications is from the Fitbit app.

  • Tap on the device icon in the upper left of the Today page in the Fitbit app
  • Tap on the Pixel Watch 3 tile under Devices
  • Under Settings, tap on Reminders to Move
  • Tap on Get reminders to disable the notification
  • Tap on the arrows in the upper left to get back to the Today page
  • Perform a manual sync
  • Although it's probably not necessary, restart the Pixel Watch

Please let us know if this worked for you.

I just get an error message stating that something (a set of numbers) is not permitted in this community, so thanks a lot and I'll just resign from here as this is silly

It absolutely is. And the way to switch it off is far from something logical, one might think it's under notifications (like all the other notifications) but nah.. 😄
