I'm thinking about buying a Fitbit Versa and I want to use it with my Huawei mate 20 lite. Luckily I just read today that they might not be compatible and Fitbit doesn't guarantee 100% funcionality. I saw a lot of topics about p10/p20/p20 lite models but I haven't found information about Mate 20 lite devices.
Does anyone have a mate 20 lite with working connectivity with a Fitbit Versa?
Also I read about the possible solution with battery management on Huawei devices, can someone confirm that this works on the long-term, not just temporarily?

@Baines11 i have the Mate 20 Lite.
My hubby has the P20 Pro which is on their list and he doesnt get notifications either.
He's not done the update as yet though as he's been away with work
Best AnswerOdd this thread is marked as solved when it patently isn't. I was considering a Mate 20 lite for my new phone but it looks like that would be a bad decision. Almost as bad it seems as getting the Versa in the first place.
Reading around in the forums it's clear that there are all too many people completely frustrated by the Versa. I can at least get mine to sync (most of the time, although only by restarting my phone at least once a day). I sometimes get notifications but connected gps is just a pipe dream.
Bottom line, as much as I want to like my Versa, I am starting to hate it. Recommendation to anyone considering buying a Versa - don't. Chances are it won't work and you won't get any help from the manufacturer apart from trotting out the same stuff about which phones are on the approved list, and even some of those don't seem to work reliably.
It seems there is something fundamentally wrong in the way Fitbit are using bluetooth.
Best AnswerThe data syncs all day and really quickly. the only thing I don't get is my notifications.
Best Answer@Baines11 I went into settings on my phone and found an update, then I turnedt off WiFi and Bluetooth and restarted phone. I also restarted versa and I managed to sync, with notifications. It's been nearly 48 hours and occasionally I have to go into Fitbit ap and press sync but it appears to work. I also turned off the Bluetooth in other gadgets at the time. I was waiting for it to sync for a week before posting but saw your question

Hello @Saz_Jag, @Pipweek13, @Baines11 and @chris2121.
I apologize for the delay in my response.
@Saz_Jag Thanks for sharing your experience. In regards to your husband's P20, do you know if he has already tried the steps listed in this help article? They could definitely help to get the notifications to work. It is also possible that it could work with phones that aren't on the list.
@Pipweek13, Thanks for sharing the process that you followed to get everything to work correctly. Hopefully other users will find it useful and manage to get notifications to work.

Best Answer@Baines11 - i received this in another thread from another Versa/Huawei user and its worked a dream for me!!
Hi,
I had issues with my versa and mate 20 lite. I found the following steps have worked for me for the last 3 weeks without issue.
1. Unpair your devices and in Bluetooth settings 'forget' your Fitbit device.
2. Delete and reinstall Fitbit app.
3. In settings go to 'apps and notifications' then 'apps'. Find and select the Fitbit app, turn off the 'power Intensive prompt' and under app launch turn off the automatic option and have the three manual options on.
4. Go back to the list of apps and there is a settings option at the bottom. Select this, then 'special access' followed by 'ignore battery optimisation'.
5. Change the allowed drop-down to all apps then find Fitbit and toggle to 'allow'.
6. Pair your watch
7. In the devices part of Fitbit app turn off all day sync and always connected options.
8. Use your watch, sync a couple of times a day when you remember.
Hope it helps.
@Baines11 Have you tried updating your phone first, mine has been syncing and I've been getting notifications for a week now,. I did have to unpaired etc as I said above, I hope yours works, I know how frustrating it i
Best AnswerI think I've done it now . Just the notification pops up a couple seconds later than my phone goes off 😂
