I upgraded to a HuaweiP8 Lite 2017 and it wont sinc with my device. I do not understand why the type of phone you have affects compatability with my Fitbit Charge 2? Surely it should be compatable with the android app regardless of the phone you have?? And to start up my old phone just to sync/download data is tedious.

Fitbit say:
"Due to Bluetooth issues that prevent Huawei Lite models, including P8 and P9 Lite, from syncing with some devices, like Fitbit devices, our products are not compatible with these mobile phones."

It seems that compatibility issues with the hardware and software levels of bluetooth in the phone are the case of most issues.
I had the same problem for months: no sync at all, some notification (messages, calls) every once in a while.
Today, finally, I was able to resolve the issue upgrading my Huawei P8 Lite 2017 to Android 8 (PRA-LX1 8.0.0) and everything is working now.
I hope that this could help
