I need help with the setup process of my Fitbit

Hi- my father in law wasn't using his fitbit and he generously gave me his. 

I think it's a Charge 2 - not 100% sure. 

 

I want to link the device to my phone (a Samsung galaxy note 20) and probably reset it to factory settings?

I have pictures of the fitbit but I'm not sure how to attach them to this post.

Hi @angela812, welcome to the Community Forums.

 

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared. You may encounter difficulties with the setup process of a Fitbit device if you are not 100% sure of which device are you using because during the setup process you'll be prompted to select the device you're setting up. That said, can you please share with me a picture of it so I can let you know which model is it? Please refer to this post for instructions on how to attach an image into your post.

 

Also, I recommend you to check all the information that's specified on: How do I set up my Fitbit device? just as @USAF-Larry suggested. This way, you'll be able to check if all the requirements to setup your device are correctly configured. Then, if you experience difficulties with this process, you can move on and try the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.
