It doesn't happen all the time and I can't figure out when or why it happens. If I go for a walk without using connected GPS (versa btw) then go to sync afterward, it somehow adds another .5 miles roughly. Giving me more distance than steps. I know they will never perfectly match up, but they're normally pretty close. (Usually more steps than distance because of my short legs getting more steps to the distance.) I've tried to contact Fitbit multiple times but I've just been told to reset everything, which we all know never really works.

Hello @kemeina.
Thanks for letting me know.
In this case I'd recommend that you try to track the walk using only the app and your phone. That should let us get a better understanding of what is going on. You can click here to read more about how to do it.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

That doesn't work for me, because the phone's altimeter isn't as accurate. Also, I bought the Versa watch for a reason, so if your solution is "don't use the watch," that doesn't work as a fix.
Here's today. Check out the time codes. Watch at ~9:15 pm...
Synced the app right afterward.
Watch after the sync, ~9:17 pm.
I'd like a better solve than "don't use the Fitbit product you bought." Especially because the app is the INCORRECT count, and the watch is correct. The issue is that what Fitbit logs is somehow from the app, and it's corrupting the watch's count and my logs during the sync.

Hello @kemeina.
I'd like to apologize if it seemed like what I was saying is that you shouldn't use the Fitbit itself.
My intention was to ask for you to try it with the phone only and then using the results from that to check if the situation could be coming from the app itself or the Fitbit.
To better clarify my position, I want to determine if this could be happening because the app is recalculating the distance on its own or it could be happening when the exercise is synced to the app from the Versa.
I'd also like to further investigate on the situation:
Look forward to your reply.

Hi, I've been having the EXACT same problem and it started when I got the Versa. The Versa tracks correctly, but as soon as I complete a sync with the app it adds mileage to some portions of my activity. It's incredibly annoying. I've tried a second versa with the same issue. I've deleted the app, reset the watch several times. I've messed with the stride length. I've turned off auto tracking of exercise, I've turned it on, I've used GPS, I've not used GPS. I've tried EVERYTHING. The problem is somewhere in the sync process with the app. I've been communicating via email with tech support and so far it doesn't seem like FitBit has any idea how to fix this. And I now see I'm not the only one having the problem. Any solutions out there?
