Where is your mileage not showing correctly? Is in the exercise details of your activity or is in your overall distance?
In the meantime a brief explanation, is that your overall distance of the main distance stat of the Dashboard will only account the distance you obtain from your step count.
For GPS distance related to your exercise, this can be found in the exercise tile and accessing the GPS activity previously recorded. If this information is not accurate, the following article may give you some help: Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device?
