Hello @mrsmartin, welcome to the Community Forums!

First, I appreciate your effort and patience for troubleshooting this situation prior to posting. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know which Android mobile device are you using to sync your Fitbit device? When was the first time you experience such syncing difficulties and how many times since then? Let me share with you that the time on your Fitbit is incorrect because your device use your phone timezone settings to display the correct time with the syncing process.

That said, to rectify the syncing concern I recommend you to check how the syncing procedure works here and see if there's a missing requirement on your Android mobile device that's preventing the syncing procedure to be completed.

Also, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and let me know how it goes.

Keep me posted, I'll be around if you need anything else.

Thanks for your reply @mrsmartin, my apologies for the delay in responding your post.

I appreciate the details that were shared in your post, thanks for troubleshooting this situation too.

Seems odd that the time on your device is still incorrect because our Fitbit devices use your mobile device information to display the time that's configured with the syncing process, therefore, by simply syncing your Fitbit, it should display the time that's configured on your Samsung Galaxy S8.

However, this may be fixed by updating the time zone setting in your Personal Settings. For step-by-step instructions, please see our help article: How do I change the time on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.

I'll be waiting for your reply.
