Increased steps after changing from charge 2 to charge 3

Hi.

I've recently changed from a charge 2 to a charge 3. My steps have increased quite significantly without me increasing my walking. I'm using the same app just changed it from 2 to 3.

Any ideas? Maybe my last fitbit wasn't registering correctly or this new one isn't. Thanks

@Jmcjan. Are you using the mobile track mode in your fitbit app to track your steps or the Charge 3. Normally the Charge 3 will track the steps .

In anyway. have you gone for a walk, counting off your steps then comparing your count to the Charge 3?

Hi sorry I'm not sure what you mean by mobile track mode. If you mean the mobile gps then no it's just the charge 3 fitbit doing the counting .

I'll try the walk thing.

Thanks

Sorry my response was from not knowing why the Fitbit app was so important in your post.

Did you take a walk while counting your steps?

Best Answer

Yes I did. It was roughly correct but didn't count accurately the whole time but not a great deal in it.

What I have noticed is that doing little things like rock the baby on the arm the fitbit is on and scratching makes the step count increase. This is quite annoying.

Yes things like rocking a baby can be annoying when adding steps, but at the same time pushing the stroller will keep the tracker from recording steps.

Both happen because the tracker is on the arm and watches arm motions, not the movement of the feet.

The charge 3 seems much more sensitive to arm movement than the charge 2.  It is annoying as I can't get an accurate account of my steps.

Thank you for your help.
