Inspire 2 not pairing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

 My Alta HR was needing to charge every other day, so I decided to try an Inspire 2. I cannot get it to pair with my phone. I have a Galaxy A53, 5g, running Android version 13. I have unpaired my Alta HR, turned the Bluetooth off waited 10 seconds and turned it back on, turned off my phone and waited 2 minutes then turned it back on, restarted my watch, deleted and reinstalled the app, left my Bluetooth off until the app prompted me to turn it on. All settings are set as recommended. The Inspire 2 will give me a pairing code and then I will get an error on my phone saying to turn my Bluetooth on (already is) to set up tracker and the Inspire2 will say download or update the fitbit app to set up.

Sorry, but I can't quite follow all the steps you went through, but it seems you did a lot of unnecessary work.

For reference for next time, all that was required was, with your previous tracker still attached,

first force a sync to get all data to Fitbit database,

tap profile pic (circle at top left of today screen) > Set up a Device > select your new device (Inspire 2);

it will note you already have an Alta HR attached and ask if you want to replace it  - answer yes, and it guides you through the rest, unpairing your old device and adding your new to the same account.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Are you suggesting that I re-pair my Alta HR? Will that force the Inspire 2 to pair? I've gone to add device and followed all the steps, my phone will sense it and tell me its found my Inspire 2, the Inspire 2 with give me the code to pair and then I get  the error messages on both devices. All the rest that I did was trouble shooting both what the website advises and what others have posted as something that has helped them.

I'm afraid I'm no more help here.  All I could suggest is to reboot your phone, start over from Fitbit app on phone, and note exactly when you get error message(s) on what device(s), and the exact wording of error messages.

Hi @JohnnyRow, thanks for the information you provided and welcome @Hodgenpodge to this amazing community!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems setting up your brand new Inspire 2, but thank you for all the information you have shared about the steps you have already tried.

Let me give you some suggestions in this case. Firstly, you need to make sure that your previous Alta HR is not linked to your Fitbit account before starting the setup process for your Inspire 2. If you have an Android phone, you can remove the Alta HR by tapping on your profile picture (circle at the top left of the today screen) > tapping on your Inspire 2 image > and then clicking on the garbage can at the top right-hand corner, and then selecting "unpair".

Once you have done that, you should check the Bluetooth settings to see if the Alta HR is still paired. If this is still connected, tap on the gear icon on the right-hand side of the screen and click on "unpair". Turn off Bluetooth, then turn it back on. Finally, go back to the Fitbit app and try to start the setup process for your Inspire 2.
