I have an android device and before the software update on the ionic my phone would always connect to my watch when I went into the settings and scrolled down to bluetooth and enabled restore bluetooth controls. After the software update on the watch, I had to go into the settings of my phone, and turn on the "pair" option on the watch, and tap ionic (classic). I really would like it to automatically connect again. And randomly, as I'm typing this, my phone disconnects the ionic (classic). I dont know if it's this samsung or the watch.

Hi @Andrew223. Welcome on board.
Thanks for bringing this situation to my attention, as well for your efforts while trying to connect your Ionic via Bluetooth. I understand where are you coming from and to see how it goes, please give a try to the following steps in the given order:
Once that is done, set the notifications one more time so everything is connected correctly. If the issue persists, I'll need you to provide me with your phone's model and Android version.
I'll be around, keep me posted.

Followed through everything... even though I have both ionic and ionic classic paired into my phone. I'll turn on restore music controls and it still wont connect unless I switch it to "pair" and go into my phone and ionic classic.
I have a samsung s8+ (SM-G955U)
I also have android version 9
