This one is driving me crazy: ever since I bought my Fitbit Ionic watch in Dec'18 I have not been able to update the firmware version on the device. Its still on version 27.33.1.30 (current one is 22.70.80).
The device syncs my activities perfectly with my Samsung S9 phone, but I cannot download new apps because of the old firmware version on the watch.
The online instructions suggest that I should get a pink button or notification on the phone app when there's a firmware update available for the Ionic device. But I have never seen this pink button. And whatever I try, it will not appear.
Have tried everything I could find online, but no luck:
- activities data sync works fine between phone and Ionic device
- made sure phone app is up-to-date (even un-installed and re-installed)
- both phone and ionic are on the same wifi network and all-day sync is on (called always connected now). Also Ionic battery is full
- all notifications settings are on
- shut-down and restarted Ionic watch several times
- disconnected Ionic device from my account and reconnected again
Any informed suggestions are most welcome. Thanks in advance !
