I now cannot receive text message notifications on my fitbit ionic with my Note 9. I receive ALL other notifications just NOT text. I have called customer service, we went through every possible trouble-shooting idea, they just told me to replace the device. If I change the default messages in the fitbit app to the facebook messenger app, it works. I received an update notification for Fitbit AND Andriod the same day. I cannot figure out which update has caused the problem. I really need this feature to be operational. If anyone has any ideas, I am open to suggestions.

Welcome to the Forums @Pjgandy.
Thanks for letting us know up about your setup and sharing all of the steps that you have tried on it.
In this case I'd like to ask some questions to better understand what is going on:
I look forward to your reply to better understand what is going on.
Best AnswerIt did indeed work prior to update. I downloaded google messages and it is working just fine with my text notifications. Guess I'll just wait for the next update to try again 😞
Best AnswerOkay. Or you can roll back to a previous version of the Fitbit app and that seems to fix most peoples txt issues. It's what I did.
Best AnswerI am up to date on my Note which is version 9. I tried everything in the help forum you mentioned. I was on the phone with fitbit customer service for over an hour and tried everything they thought of. They said to get a new device. I was using the original messaging app on my Note 9. I have now downloaded Google messages and the notifications are working fine. Whatever update, whether is was fitbit or Note 9, just don't seem to be compatible.
Best AnswerFitbit rolled back their broken 3.0 app to the 2.95 version on Google play. So if you uninstall and then re-install the app now, your regular texts should work again.

I am glad they finally figured out there was a problem.

Hello everyone!
Thanks for sharing your experiences and letting us know what you have done so far.
@Southie In your case, could you please let us know what phone is it that you are using whenever the app crashes like this? Also, when did you start getting this situation?
I look forward to your reply.

Best AnswerI am not receiving text alerts either. I have an Inspire HR and an android, Galaxy s10+. I've had the inspire since April and I was receiving texts perfectly until last week. I've uninstalled the app, I've synced and reset all settings. I've checked notification settings and unpaired from bluebluet. I even contacted Fitbit through a chat online and they mailed me a new device. New device still isn't receiving texts but will receive everything else.
Best AnswerThis is ridiculous. I am having the exact same issue with text messages. I can receive all other notifications except those, and they're the most important ones. I have been looking into this for a few days, and it seems that many people are having this issue since the update to 3.0. @LanuzaFitbit why don't you folks at Fitbit just admit you broke something and do us a favor and roll us all back until you fix it? This is highly frustrating, and your suggestion to have us try all the crap we've all already tried is bordering on insulting. It's broken, either give us an option to roll back, or fix it. Stop with the pointless troubleshooting. I'm pretty sure you can track who worked on that portion of that app, and figure out what they did to break it.
Best AnswerI finally started to receive text alerts again. I was told the issue is my phone not the Fitbit. Because I have a new galaxy s10+, Fitbit hasn't caught up to it yet. So it's very off and on. Some times it works and I recieve all alerts and some times it will randomly not send only text alerts again.
Best AnswerThat's funny that they told you that considering they broke it with their latest update (3.0). I swear, the folks at Fitbit just can't admit when they mess things up. I've been running the latest OS (Pie) for months, and it was working fine until Fitbit updated their app.

It's THEIR software. I have a VZW S10+ that has worked flawlessly (minus the issue with fitbit version 3.0) with a Blaze. I got scolded by Fitbit for 1) posting the fix) and 2) exposing their poor software abilities. I wish I could help, but Fitbit is too arrogant to admit their issue and the Mods have NO technical background other than to blame your phone.
