Ionic won't sync

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have an ionic and an LG v20 everything was going great and all off the sudden I started having issues with my watch when I would turn my Bluetooth on.  Freezing and lagging.  Then it stopped syncing all together.  I tried all the suggested steps on other posts.  Now it won't even connect to the ionic to set it up.  So now I have a useless app and a useless watch, please fix whatever is going on!

Welcome to the Forums @eperrou

This might be happening because the LG V20 is not part of the supported devices list. This means that the app has not been fully optimized to work with that phone. It is possible that some update on the app caused further optimization issues with the phone.

As long as it fulfills the minimum requirements, Android 4.4 and Bluetooth 4.0, there is a possibility that it can work but we cannot guarantee it. Some users of unsupported devices have mentioned that following these steps helps with the syncing.

If none of the above works, you could try to use a computer or another mobile device to try and sync your Fitbit to your account. Click here to get instructions on how to sync with other devices.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

It was a supported device when I got the watch....i feel like that is fit bits answer to every problem.  We won't admit we messed up, it's obviously something you did or your phone.  It's worked great for a year and imagine my surprise when the app updated now it won't work.......gotta be my phone tho.

Hello @eperrou.

The LG V20 has never been a supported device. As I mentioned in my post if it fulfills the minimum requirements there is a possibility that it will work, like it did in your case. However, an update on the app or on the phone could cause further optimization issues that lead to it stop working. Having said my post was never meant to come off like I was blaming you for anything, I apologize if it did.

If you can, please try the steps I shared above and see if they help at all or not.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.
