LG G5 Text Notifications with Charge 2 not working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

I just bought a Fitbit Charge 2 and my phone is a LG G5.  After the purchase, I looked at the compatibility list and did not find my phone but I guessed it worth a try considering it's running on android like any other phone on that list.  After some tests,  I can synch my charge 2 with my LG G5, I can receive call notifications on the watch but I can't receive text or message notifications.  I saw a couple of topics on that on the forum but the solutions are not really helpful.  I already know that you need to be close to your phone in order to have the bluetooth connection working and I also know that I need to activate the notifications in the apps and on the watch.

Did someone have an explanation on what may cause the problem with the message notifications?

I know you guys are working on the supported device list but the LG G6 is already out and the LG G5 is still not on that list.

Thank you for your time! I appreciate the help in advance!

Hi there @Alexe1811, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community and thank you for giving a try to the Charge 2  with your phone. Indeed, as you already know the LG G5 is not listed as compatible and you are correct, many Android devices nowadays run with similar specifications with a few changes in some features depending of the brand. The difference is that the app is not optimized toi run with this models, in some scenarios may work but some feature may not behave as are intended.

We have an example with your phone, the calls are working because the tracker is connected through Bluetooth but the behavior with text notification as you can see is not the same and is in this little difference that make a device not compatible.

I'm not sure which troubleshooting step have you tried already, but as a matter of review it would not hurt to try these suggestions: My tracker isn't receiving notifications (Android Fitbit app).

When a devices has not been listed as compatible is either because we are still running tests or the device was declare as not compatible. However even us as moderators do not posses this information until is being released publicly.

Hope this helps and thank you for your patience while we work to improve the Fitbit experience.
