Manual calorie target tile with calories left not android app?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am using the current/old/not-the "preview-the-new-android-dashboard" dashboard on the Android App and I'm trying to figure out how to get the same tiles I have on the website dashboard.

I have changed my food plan to a manual calorie goal on the website, which adds the following tile to the website dashboard:

This tile counts down the calories left to eat and shows a graphical circle representing calories left. It's exactly what I want.

I want this same tile on the Android app, but currently it only shows the tile that prompts me to create a foodplan:

Does this manual calorie tile simply not exist in the Android App in the release-version of the dashboard? Is there no way to get this tile?

I have checked the "preview the new version of the dashboard" and a tile that is SIMILAR to the website is there, but it is not the same:

This tile just shows a number for the calories I've eaten, but not how many are left. There is no helpful circle representing calories remaining.

I have searched the forums and found other people with the same problem and no clear answer.  I have tried force-quitting, clearing the cache, and clearing all data in the Android App, which caused me to have to log in again and resync again, but the "Start a Food plan - Get started" tile persists in the old dashboard, and there isn't any way to configure the new dashboard's tile to make it look like the one on the website.

Is there no way to get the tile that's on the website on my android app?

Thanks

Hello @Pennyhero

On the new version of the Dashboard, the tile should be very similar to the one on the Web Dashboard. In this case I'd recommend that you try to straight up uninstall the Fitbit app from your device and then reinstall it. That should bring the tile to show up in the proper way.

If that doesn't work the best way to proceed would be get in touch directly with Customer Support. I'm sure they will be happy to help you.

Please let me know how it goes!

Hi, did you ever find a solution to this? I'm experiencing the same issue but no luck resolving it.

I posted this exact issue last week with no resolution.  As noted above I've uninstalled the app multiple times and tried every recommendation presented to me.

Is there a real fix to this issue yet?

Hello @Juanita66@ashbressler, Welcome to the Forums.

I'd like to take a closer look into what's happening so that I can find the best way to go about it. Please answer the following questions:

  • When did this start happening?
  • Does it only happen for a small amount of calories or all of the time?

Look forward to your replies so that I can find the best way to move forward.

I had syncing issues last week and called your tech support. The calorie counter worked fine prior to that using the old dashboard. However, now the old dashboard has a permanent "Start a Food Plan" with a red bar "Get Started" button. I don't want and have not in the past created a food plan. I just want a simple calorie calculation which I have had since using the tracker last Nov.

Anywho, I am now forced to use the new dashboard but the tiles do not display on the app the same way they do on the web site. Same issue as posted above by another user..

I just got my Fitbit this week and it's been happening since I got it.

It's all the time. The tile shows the correct value, however the design of
the tile is different than the website and iOS app so is not as useful. I
think the original post had some good images showing the issue.

Thanks for looking into it.

I was told via email from "Danny L and the Fitbit Team" that this feature is not available.

"in order for the 'Calories Left' to show, a Food Plan will need to be created as it will not display with a manually set calorie goal at this time."

It is recommended that you submit it as a feature request via the following link: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Feature-Suggestions/idb-p/features

This is a bummer.. this feature existed on the old dashboard for me for 2 months.

Hello @Juanita66!  and @ashbressler!

@Juanita66 thanks for that update straight from support. With that I mind, I'd say that it could be a good idea to create the suggestion that you mentioned and then share the link to the post in here. That way, anyone looking for this can vote and comment on the suggestion to show their support.

Hope to see you around the Forums.

Welcome to the Forums @SunsetRunner!

I didn't quite understand what you are referring to. Are you saying that support took your Fitbit? If you could provide me with more details on the whole situation I will be more than happy to help you out!

Look forward to your reply.

This is exactly the issue I am having... I could use the tile 2 days ago but now mine looks like yours. I'm going to have to just use fitness pal.. the calories remaining were what I loved! Without that option I feel the app is worthless. Thanks for explaining it so well!
