The maps of my ruins have stopped showing up under exercise.  Also the distance of ruins are incorrect.

I have this exact same problem, and none of the other posts have helped... I did not pause/resume the tracker and my phone was with me the whole time.

I'm also having the same problem.  I only got my Fitbit a couple of weeks ago and it has never worked for me.  I found a thread earlier today from March where the user uninstalled and reinstalled the app, unpaired and reconnected device and then turned on connected GPS and went for a walk.  This worked for me earlier today, but only in that one instance.  When I tried using GPS to map tmy walk a little while ago, it is no longer working. Maps aren't being saved and are non-existent under exercise and activity.
