Mobile App Updates, what are they fixing?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Every time the Fitbit app is updated it just says "Bug fixes and performance improvements" under What's New.

It would be nice to get a reasonably detailed list of what exactly has been fixed.

I don't know what bugs they're fixing, but all the same bugs that have been there for the two years I've been using the app are still there. Performance seems like the same ol' same 'ol as well.

Hello @pjfarr.

Thanks for your interest on the situation.

I'd like to let you know that we cannot share specifics on what changes between the version. Please do know that unless a specific issue or bug is referenced, most of the fixes not usually something that a user of the app would notice.

Feel free to reach out with any further questions.

Hi @pjfarr and @LanuzaFitbit, if all these updates are for things we wouldn't notice could they not fix all the ones we do? If you are constantly reiterating the instructions for resetting etc. surely that is indicative of where the problems lie. Also telling people to vote for suggestions that are to overcome flaws in your systems and then saying there is no intention of acting on them (erroneous steps while driving ) is adding insult to injury.

@LanuzaFitbit

The mobile app has become so frustrating to use that I'm starting to get into the habit of just jotting down what I eat in my phone's memo pad and then copying it to the web app when I get home.

After adding an entry, many times the mobile doesn't update the calorie total. I have to open and close the food log tab a few times before it will update. And many times it doesn't sync with my account, because when I open the web app, whatever I entered via the mobile app is not there. Refreshing the page doesn't help. So I enter the food again via the web. Then suddenly the original entry shows up and now I have a duplicate, which I have to delete.

This and other issues I outlined in another recent post are things that have been present for a long time and I honestly can't tell any difference in performance after any of the many app updates. I keep hoping, though, so that's why it would help to know what exactly is being fixed in these constant updates.
