MobileRun missing data after pausing - Android 2.43+

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Fitbit Update: 9/26/17

Hello, everyone! I wanted to make it known that I haven't forgotten about this issue with MobileRun. Our team is aware of this ongoing problem, however, I don't have a timeline for when there will be a fix available. I understand many of you are frustrated with this feature, and I hope to give you all more information soon. Thanks for your continued patience!

Just to be clear, this thread is for the MobileRun issue for when you initiate a Run/Walk, if you 'Pause' your activity and then 'Resume' after you finish, you will not see your map or some of your exercise data. Alternatively, this does not happen if you 'Pause' and 'Finish' your Run/Walk right away.

Fitbit Update: 7/20/17

Thanks everyone for providing the information requested about this MobileRun issue. It appears since the Android app version 2.43, users who initiate a MobileRun on their devices and later pause it at some point will not have all the data saved when syncing afterward. This data can include the map and distance data.

I really appreciate your cooperation and patience while our team works towards a resolution. I know many of you have been active on this thread and I want to make sure you know all your input has been very helpful in determining the factors. I will continue to update this thread when there is more information available. Thanks again for your help!

MAJOR failure now.
ALL of my history of maps have turned into a list of whirling donuts.
Scroll down my list of activities and no maps downloading from all time.
All I have is series of grey place holder boxes and red whirling donuts.
On my phone I've restarted my phone, forced stopped app, uninstalled, reinstalled.
They're all there on the website, but not downloading on app.
From disaster to disaster.
I'm going to try to roll back my app.
Going to try apkmirror and get version 2.42 before all this s**t happened 😞
Might work, might not, but I'm currently in a very bad place

Uninstalled fitbit. Installed 2.42 from apkmirror. Pause Continue now works. Yip!

I can see pause/continue map on website.

No fail. It works.

BUT my maps still not downloading on my list of activities screen.

Still whirling donuts.... Lots of them.

But if I click on a particular activity whirling donut I do get the map and details for that particular activity.

It's the summary list screen that's failing to download map thumbnails.

But on a positive Pause Continue is working for me again back on 2.42.

So two steps forward and one back!

From what I can see all evidence of Google maps has disappeared.

Walks I can see are no longer overlaid into a Google map.

Start new walk and it has GPS location dot but not overlaid on a map. Just sits on a blank screen.

Is there an issue with fitbit android link to Google maps now?

On top of everything else we've had to put up with since March 9th?

Or have I missed a setting?

So as of 9th march we can't use pause continue add now as of yesterday Google maps as a background to exercise has vanished. Now a plain background. I've reported it to Support. They say they know about it (heard that before) they working on it (ditto) and appreciate my patience (ditto again).

This platform is dropping to bits

If you have updated to the latest app, you may need to log out/back in, but this has been fixed in the latest update

@Rich_Laue Logging out and back in doesn't seem to help - the issue persists.

I have just gone back to November 2016 on my phone and every map on the way back for both MobileRun and Connected GPS show the background Google maps..

But, when @PiLesley reported this,  when I went back through my history of maps I had to wait for the scrolling to stop to see the map.

Since then I deleted all of my Trash emails and it made me think it was a space issue in the phone. I had 1300 trash emails..

Last night a 48 minute, 5000 step MobileRun tracked perfectly even with my wife ringing me.. All saved..

Thanks but space is not an issue.
What version of the app are you using now please?

Are you using 2.38?

I'm still getting the same issue and for me that's enough, I went on a nice little 8k last night and didn't pause the run yet once again I get no maps which means no data to transfer to Strava. I'm gonna ditch the Fit bit now, it's a shame as I love it but I'm not prepared to miss the logging of my runs anymore. Time to go and buy a Garmin today I think

I can see your point.
Indisputable.
It's getting worse not better and the fitbit feedback is non existent.
Wishing you a better experience...

Sorry I thought you'd rolled back to last November.
I've rolled back to. 2.42 pre March.
Used apkmirror.
Pause Continue works but I'm not getting Google maps as background to GPS track on any app version I try.
I've got loads of free space on phone.
Don't know what to do.
Goes from bad to worse 😞 I'm so depressed about this.
