MobileRun missing data after pausing - Android 2.43+

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Fitbit Update: 9/26/17

Hello, everyone! I wanted to make it known that I haven't forgotten about this issue with MobileRun. Our team is aware of this ongoing problem, however, I don't have a timeline for when there will be a fix available. I understand many of you are frustrated with this feature, and I hope to give you all more information soon. Thanks for your continued patience!

Just to be clear, this thread is for the MobileRun issue for when you initiate a Run/Walk, if you 'Pause' your activity and then 'Resume' after you finish, you will not see your map or some of your exercise data. Alternatively, this does not happen if you 'Pause' and 'Finish' your Run/Walk right away.

Fitbit Update: 7/20/17

Thanks everyone for providing the information requested about this MobileRun issue. It appears since the Android app version 2.43, users who initiate a MobileRun on their devices and later pause it at some point will not have all the data saved when syncing afterward. This data can include the map and distance data.

I really appreciate your cooperation and patience while our team works towards a resolution. I know many of you have been active on this thread and I want to make sure you know all your input has been very helpful in determining the factors. I will continue to update this thread when there is more information available. Thanks again for your help!

Let's get our mind around this.. When the rumored Blaze 2 comes out it will have inbuilt GPS. More rumors and plenty more on the Web... So that leads us to MobileRun...and ... the App... How does that fit in with the One and other Fitbits that don't have access to GPS. ?

If Blaze 2 is released in Fall in the USA, it's not many weeks away... . this would take the pressure off MobileRun and the Blaze, and, if this is the replacement for the Surge to increase their revenue........ your crystal ball is as good as mine.

Where will Connected GPS end with Fitbit ?  It has it's issues as well...

Surely our issues are nothing to do wth tracker.
Inbuilt or not.... The app isn't working.
That won't change with inbuilt or connected.
In theory I don't need to take my tracker with me.
Am I wrong here?
This app issue will persist whatever GPS is used?

@PiLesley  You are not wrong.... but.... MobileRun doesn't generate revenue for Fitbit, a new tracker with inbuilt GPS will, and approaching Christmas in the US....  This will give them more funds to hopefully fix the predominate issues..

My wife's nephew was here with all of their new Apple watches, and lovely black background on their iPhone Dashboard. That family of 5 have relegated  their Fitbits  to the dressing table draw...

Blaze is no smart watch though.
Trackers never going to rival iWatch or Sony smart watch etc.
It's horses for courses as we say here in the UK.
Right product for right job.
Maybe fitbit getting ahead of themselves if they think they can compete with the big boys.
They should look after us little folk who just want an honest tracker please.....

@PiLesleyHere is another link with more information. But from my business background, Fitbit need revenue to keep supporting their products... The bane of technology companies..... It's rumored they have layed off 6% of their Global staff.. Sales are lagging, and you can't buy the Surge in Australia... In this link Fitbit have shown a drop in Revenue.... and this link more technical thoughts from Wareable..

I have been waiting years for improvements on Premium... sttttiiiillllll waiting....for fixes in that product.

Off to find my pillow down here...

They even show the new Sleep Display on the Phone..  All very clever to generate sales

Will look at your links.

For now.....

Delete fitbit app.

Go to apkmirror. Get 2.42.

Pause resume works, great.

Even old dashboard for those who want.

I've still not got Google maps at all behind my activities.

Just GPS trail.

Is this just me?

I've deleted and installed the older APK and I have the maps on my history... thanks for the tip, just need to make sure it doesn't auto update now.

I have used MobileRun to track a 5 mile walk twice in the last two days. My GPS signal there is great, my firmware and app are up to date, and both were restarted. MobileRun saves a walk I do around my own home to test it, but does not save the real walks. It lets me finish, shows me the summary and then its gone. I can't manually log the walk because it doesn't give me credit for the active minutes that way. And I cant get an accurate cardio fit score without the data saving. So what gives?

@TraumaQueen, are you pressing Pause & Resume during the walk?  This is a known bug that causes the activity to not be saved.

If your on android delete the Fitbit app and download the 2.42 APK from apkmirror.. Worked for me, I have all the functionality back and will wait a while before I update again

I've tried a few from apkmirror versions. I posted that as a suggestion on forums here.
Pause resume works on 2.42 as does old dashboard.
Still can't seem to get my map backgrounds though on the few versions I've tried 😞

Frustrating.
I'm back on 2.42.
Restarted phone etc.
Even set up a fresh fitbit account to track a run but no map on GPS tracking screen.
Thought maybe my account had got corrupt. But no.
Still no Google maps at all anywhere 😞

not on purpose but I push a stroller and put my phone in the cupholder and I know I pushed it by accident at least once today. Probably yesterday too. Tomorrow I will try it without doing that and see what happens. Or I'll just follow the other suggestions.

Why are my Google map backgrounds refusing to load.

This started last Friday.
All past history Google maps working as well as a new activity track.
What's happened.
I've tried installing loads of previous older versions of app from apkmirror ... None load maps.

@PiLesleyTo help others help you with this problem......

What Android phone are you using and what version of Android. ?

I believe you have deleted any unwanted data, like cache and emails.  As I posted earlier I had a similar issue when I was going back to see if I had your problem and I was having the wheelie and had to wait on each map.  I deleted over 1000 trash emails and the issue has gone.  But,, When I sc roll back over 6 months the problem rears its head... I just have to wait.. This would indicate a memory issue in the phone....

My phone is not supported but works except the Pause, resume..

I know it's not the answer you want however you could download Strava if you want the maps till this issue is fixed, you will get all your data there apart from HR however the Fitbit app will record this for you anyway... it's not ideal however it is a workaround to get your maps
