MobileRun missing data after pausing - Android 2.43+

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Fitbit Update: 9/26/17

Hello, everyone! I wanted to make it known that I haven't forgotten about this issue with MobileRun. Our team is aware of this ongoing problem, however, I don't have a timeline for when there will be a fix available. I understand many of you are frustrated with this feature, and I hope to give you all more information soon. Thanks for your continued patience!

Just to be clear, this thread is for the MobileRun issue for when you initiate a Run/Walk, if you 'Pause' your activity and then 'Resume' after you finish, you will not see your map or some of your exercise data. Alternatively, this does not happen if you 'Pause' and 'Finish' your Run/Walk right away.

Fitbit Update: 7/20/17

Thanks everyone for providing the information requested about this MobileRun issue. It appears since the Android app version 2.43, users who initiate a MobileRun on their devices and later pause it at some point will not have all the data saved when syncing afterward. This data can include the map and distance data.

I really appreciate your cooperation and patience while our team works towards a resolution. I know many of you have been active on this thread and I want to make sure you know all your input has been very helpful in determining the factors. I will continue to update this thread when there is more information available. Thanks again for your help!

Hey everyone -- Sorry to hear some of you are still experiencing this issue with MobileRun.

When this issue comes up, are you all pausing the MobileRun at any point during your activity? If this is still happening, even with the latest app version 2.50 please let me know the following:

  • App version you're running
  • Phone you're using
  • Whether you paused the run or not

Thanks for your patience while our engineering team continues to look into this. I will relay this information for further investigation.

Fails to record map or indeed any indication at all of activity.
Just like it didn't happen.
Yes I am pausing then continue.
App 2.50, Nexus 6, Android 7.

All works fine in 2.42.

Since version 2.43 (currently on 2.50)

Ulefone Power

Pausing run results in deletion of data recorded by the phone.

You already have received a lot of feedback concerning this issue, but there are a lot of people who did not participate in this discussion who experience the same problems since releasing 2.43....

This is happening to me!!! I took autorecognize off and that helped for a week but since yesterday (June 4) it won't even show that I exercised that day even though I had 85 minutes!! The green circle is hilighted and everything!! It knows I was active for 85 minutes, at the end of the walk I saw the map, the splits and everything. Now it's gone!! Please fix this bug!!! I should not have to manually input exercise if I've run the app to track. There is a major issue here!!

Yep, I'm having this issue too. Yes, it seems to be on the runs where I pause and resume part way through. I have a Google pixel, running Android 7.1.2 and fit bit app 2.50 (and a flex 2).

I'd really appreciate a fix for this. Thanks!

It's not tracker dependent.
Just app.
As temp fix uninstall app and get 2.42 from apkmirror.
Wait for fix, we've had a few updates and they not fixed it yet.
But you can keep rolling back to 2.42 to keep you going in the mean time.

i gave up.  four months was long enough for Fitbit to fix this. I just cannot have missing data every other day.  It defeats the whole purpose of tracking!  I use MapMyFitness now and just carry my phone and wear no tracker.  MMF has worked flawlessly and there's lots more data there to "gauge" my workout.  I'm loving it.  I turned off my Flex 2 and my Charge 2 and I'm selling them on eBay.   Enough is enough and if Fitbit isn't listening to us or things found months of losing tracks/maps is ok, they are wrong. Maybe some folks are waiting around for a fix -- I am not.  I tried calling and emailing support, asking on Facebook and twitter and pouring my information and heart out in the forums -- but the problem remains and I need my maps saved!  I understand an issue here and there.  But if they couldn't fix this, they should have rolled back until they got it right. They made a mistake and in not fixing it in a timely manner, they've lost me and many others like me that don't get on the forums (there are lots of us complaining on Facebook).  I used to love love love Fitbit!  I endorsed it in my blog and told everyone I knew to get one.  Now I feel abandoned and unimportant to Fitbit and ....I'm done.

Couldn't agree more. I'm only still here because I've rolled back to 2.42.

You can be sure your post will be deleted, along with my reply 🙂

Fitbit not interested in our protestations... since 9th March!

I just read somewhere that maps do not get saved if you do a pause and resume during walk, presumably a bug, but with workaround. But that might not be your issue.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Well sadly for me I have now given up as my fit bit won't even connect to my app anymore. It was fantastic while it lasted Fitbit but we need to finish our relationship - it's not me it you. I have bought a Samsung Gear fit 2 which is being delivered tomorrow which I can't wait to start using... built in gps, space for my music and the best thing is that it will work with my edge 7.
I loved my fitbit charge HR but all good things come to an end I guess.
