Multiple Fitbit Device Sync

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a versa 3 which I use as an everyday watch

When doing some activities i now use an old charge 2.

However, it would appear that the 2 devices are fighting for step tracking

The charge 2 syncs and the step count increases.  When I put the versa 3 on, it shows the old step count and when it syncs, all steps from the charge 2 disappear.

Is there a correct way to have 2 devices?they are both paired fine...but the usability seems off.

Hi, @BlythMeister , welcome, you can't have two devices that use "Gallery" at the same time on a Fitbit account. If you want to change devices you need to go through the process on the app of replacing one device with the other, syncing first before changing so you do not lose data.

I hope this helps

No, that doesn't help.

I was aware of this hence getting a charge 2 to go alongside my versa 3 as the charge 2 does not have gallery.

Therefore both devices pair at the same time.  But it's just the sync that is off as one seems to be a "primary" and anything that tracked on the other is lost.

Hi, @BlythMeister you may find the explanation in this article helpful  How do I set up my Fitbit device?

I hope this is helpful, as more & more Fitbit devices are launched and the app moves forward things change.

Cheers

I have the device setup.

I don't think your actually reading what I put your just copy and pasting some stock replies from somewhere!

The issue is that when the versa 3 syncs it wipes out all steps tracked by the charge 2.

Hi, @BlythMeister. I think this section is relevant -

You can't connect multiple devices that use the Fitbit Gallery to one account. For the Fitbit Charge series, Fitbit Inspire series, Fitbit Luxe, Fitbit Sense series, Fitbit Versa series, and Google Pixel Watch series, only connect one of these devices to your account at a time.

If you connect more than 1 Fitbit device to the same account, note the following:

  • If you forget to take off one Fitbit device before putting on another, the overlapping data is reconciled to present the most accurate information possible. For best results, don't wear more than one device at a time and sync each device before taking it off and putting on another.
  • Only one person can use a Fitbit account. When you create an account you’re asked for personal information, such as height and weight, to calculate certain data.
  • If you have more than one Fitbit device that receives notifications from your phone, notifications might appear on one or more of your Fitbit devices.
  • A Fitbit device can only be paired to 1 phone. If you have more than 1 phone, you only receive notifications from the phone connected to your Fitbit device.

Cheers
